Research Assistance Projects

Thank you for your interest in applying for a GEM Environmental Research Assistance position. Participants are required to have the legal right to work in the US and pass a federal background check. As a part of this program, we have created 14 - 675 hour RHT AmeriCorps Ed award only positions for STEM Students in Arizona. Each position requires project approval with a field work component that provides a tangible benefit to our public lands including scientific surveys, invasive weed studies, habitat restoration, erosion control/ mitigation, recreation access, or other related type of project work.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are awarded each quarter with soft deadlines on the second Friday of February, May, August, and November. Committee reviews take place the first Monday of March, June, September, and December. Students not working on research opportunities or advanced degrees requiring field work need not apply, but may be considered for one of our other scholarship opportunities.

Deadline June 25th 2022
