Board Officer - Treasurer Part Time Volunteer Position
1 x Positions Available
Term: 2 years
Start Date: Upon the successful completion of Background Check
Board Meetings are held quarterly March, June, September, and December with a virtual option.
Volunteer Position: Roughly 6-10 hours per month.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Volunteer Board Treasurer will assist in maintaining and reporting financial records, leading financial committees, maintaining corporate records, and assisting with policy development for the organization as an Officer of the Board. Board Officers are also expected to participate in regular organization functions, help spread the organization's mission through regular public interaction, and lead fundraising campaigns. The position requires the individual to interact with vulnerable populations, is critical to the operation of the organization, and does require applicants to undergo a criminal history screening before beginning any official duties.

JOB DUTIES:
- Establish and maintain a close working relationship with the Board Chairperson, Executive Director, and Board of Directors to execute both the organization’s mission and goals.
- Provide sound judgement in guiding the organization through fundraising and program initiatives.
- Inspire staff, members, participants, and the community to spread our mission.
- Be a resource for best practices, new ideas, and strong execution of shared goals.
- Foster the next generation of our scientific community through leadership development, value training, personal/professional development, and service learning.
