Philanthropy

GEM Corps is passionate about giving back to the community.
Scroll down to learn more about some of the initiatives we support.

Bat Houses for Habitat Restoration

With help from community volunteers, our team members decided to spend our Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service constructing bat houses to be placed around our community to help restore habitat for our fragile bat populations. Bats are important pollinators where communities are being plagued with the fungal disease White Nose Syndrome.

Fencing the Farm to School Gardens at
Taylor Hicks Elementary School

With help from community volunteers and a donation made by American Fence, our team members helped to fundraise for and erect a fence around the school's classroom gardens that were vandalized the previous semester.

Little Free Libraries

With help from community volunteers, our team members spent our 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service constructing little free libraries to be placed at schools without physical libraries around the community for students to have continual access to new reading material.
